Default Annoying things I wish were changed

Over the course of the bwes a few things have annoyed me considerably. Since they haven't been fixed yet I thought I would bring attention to them.

1) Pressing the control key shows the names of all characters in your field of view. In a pvp setting, you do this to be able to select characters more easily. However, if you click a character with control pressed, it calls for your team to attack him. So I think either make class and maybe HP visible with control pressed down, or change the hold-down key to something else than control (bindable?)

2) This last beta I had too much warping. This happened a lot in the relic map, in which I would pick up the relic and *run* all the way to under the bridge, only then to warp back half the distance and proceed walking. I think it couldn't hurt if the client "knew" the relic slowed you, but the server still controlling your movements to prevent hacking. This same idea could also be applied to knockdowns, slows, etc.

3) I still find it slightly annoying that while casting a big area spell and the target of the spell dies, you continue casting only to have it fizzle at the end. I think it should either go off anyway or fizzle as soon as the target dies; the current setup imo penalizes higher lag.

I find this to be highly annoying as well. There is an offical suggestion thread, might want to include these things in there if you haven't already

I think if you hold shift down as well or something, it doesn't or wasn't supposted to call out the target. I thought I had tried this once, and I didn't think it worked though.

Holding down shift will prevent you from attacking or running to the target you click, but holding Ctrl will always make you call the target. Difference is the message will say "I am targeting <monster>" instead of "I am attacking <monster>"

Definitely a bit of confusion all over. I never really thought of any of the above mentioned. Now that I think of it though it is nice that Deadroot mentioned the difference between calling a "monster" and targeting a "monster". I'll have to impliment that into my play so I don't get myself screwed, like I have on many occassions. Usually when I realize way too late what I actually did and the dire consequences that follow.

The thing that is annoying to me is this... I have dial up. I need to get DSL or Broadband. So, until I do, I can't enjoy all the quick file uploads in the loading screen like other members can. I hate coming in late on missions (making my team or guild wait for me), late in the Ascalon Arena or just personal play... this pretty much sums up the whole game. Its a waste of time for them having to tap their feet waiting on Mr. Slowpoke, me. Is there anything that can be done or is being done to minimize the time that it takes for dial up users to upload the files in order to get into everything faster?

I'm totally on board here. I have gotten used to seeing the target die, then moving to stop the animation/casting, but I shouldn't have to do that. I'd rather see the spell continue and fall on the corpse OR if you manage to switch to another target before the casting time ends, let it hit the new target.

I've actually pressed control put my cursor over a character's name and let go of the control. His/her name is still there and I can see other people's names too so I can click them without calling.

I agree - in pve or in pvp, I'll start casting something with a long casting time, but by the time I'm even halfway, the target will be dead, and I'd like to switch it over to another enemy. Oh well.

I really hate that "exhaustion" applies the moment you start casting, rather than when you finish, because it's such a waste of energy AND you lose some, and it is horrible when you get interrupted or when a target dies.

I think exhaustion should still apply if you get interrupted. That's the whole point of being interrupted. You take the penalities of casting the spell without having cast it. (and yes getting interrupted is annoying). As for the spell fizzling at the end of the casting animation I'm all for the spell fizzling the moment a target dies or casting anyway. Just curious but can you just hit escape to cancel the casting yourself when you see that the target died? You wouldn't have to wait for the entire animation to finishthen.

The one thing that is really ticking me off now is that when people are dced or just leave for no reason, they really should allow you to switch in a hench of equal primary in to replace person. A hench is better then no one right?
